Joe Enns Art is a website showing the oil paintings of Joe Enns, an Oil Painter and Fisheries Biologist located on Vancouver Island, British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest. This website is dedicated to showing the beauty of the natural world, developing oil painting skills, as well as, fisheries and stream conservation and restoration.
"Moorecroft Exploration" is one of the few oil paintings done by Joe Enns has done that is not on canvas or paper. This piece was done on hardboard prepared with gesso. In this piece, Joe was also experimenting with using impasto instead of the mediums that he is used to. The impasto thickens the paint, making for a thicker paint layer in the end.
"Similkameen River" is a landscape oil painting done from a photo that Joe took at the Bromley Rock BC Park on the Hope-Princeton Highway near Hedley, British Columbia.
